Collection I – Gallery of Hue – Featuring the history of the first Black family of Maywood, and other early settlers of Oak Park, River Forest, Melrose Park, and other Cook County West Suburban Communities since 1857.

Collection II – Diversity Speaks – Saluting the community’s multicultural tradition; with highlights of the Native Americans, Euro-Americans, and Latino Americans, beginning with Maywood’s founder, Colonel William T. Nicholas in 1869, the residence of author Carl Sandburg, and including Proviso High School success personalities: Dr. Gary Barsky, Carol Lawrence, and Dennis Franz. There is also a connection to Charles A. Lindbergh and Maywood’s Checkerboard Field – 1921.

Collection III – Our Motherland: African – A tribute to the greatness of our heritage and culture.

Collection IV – It Takes a Village – A present-day profile of the communities’ young people and our investment for 21st century advancements.

Collection V – How Great Thou Art! -- A pictorial celebration of the area’s first Black churches, dating back to 1904. Also, a “Lift Every Voice & Sing” addendum of Black sacred music is included.

Collection VI – Wall of Fame – An ever-expanding composite of local men and women hometown high achievers, their successes and contributions to the community, and all of society.
